Roma Edmond takes over as head of ASP

Roma Edmond has been appointed Director General of the Seychelles Social Protection Agency (SPA).

She holds a BTEC Advanced National Diploma in Business Studies from the University of Bolton, UK, and a Master’s degree in Strategic Management and Leadership from the National University of Ireland. Edmond brings 24 years of experience in diverse fields, including auditing, marketing, public administration, and parliamentary work.

The Director General is already familiar with the SPA, having served as Deputy CEO from November 2016 to April 2021 and as Acting CEO from September to November 2020. Prior to this appointment, she led the administration at the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning, Trade and Investment, further developing her management and leadership experience.

This appointment follows the simultaneous resignations of Brenda Morin and Tracy Tirant, former executives of the SPA. With Roma Edmond at its helm, the Agency hopes to strengthen its governance and effectively pursue its social protection missions.
