Mohamed Fayez Farahat has been appointed President of the Union of African Journalists (UJA), following a unanimous consensus among the continent’s press unions and associations.
Farahat currently chairs the Board of Directors of the Al-Ahram Institute, a leading media center in Africa and the Arab world. He also previously headed Al-Ahram’s Center for Political and Strategic Studies, where he conducted extensive political and media analysis.
These experiences have given him a deep understanding of how media institutions operate. His profile combines academic expertise with management experience in the media sector, which strengthens his legitimacy to lead the organization.
As President of the UJA, the new President will be tasked with strengthening cooperation among African journalists and encouraging the modernization of journalistic practices across the continent. This framework also includes revitalizing exchanges between different press organizations.
