Mohamed Simporé has been appointed Managing Director of the International Bank of Cameroon for Savings and Credit (BICEC), a subsidiary of the Banque Centrale Populaire (BCP) Group.
A Burkinabe national, Simporé has over 25 years of experience in the West African banking sector. He previously led the Banque Populaire Maroco-Guinéenne and Banque Atlantique Burkina Faso, acquiring extensive expertise in banking management and governance.
He also has a strong understanding of the Cameroonian market, where he worked for five years as a senior executive. This local experience will enable him to better guide BICEC’s strategy in a competitive banking environment.
Holding a master’s degree in economics and management and two MBAs from Paris, Mohamed Simporé intends to strengthen BICEC’s position in the Cameroonian market, which represented nearly 11% of loans in the third quarter of 2024, according to the BEAC (Bank of Central African States). Under his leadership, the bank aims to get closer to local players and accelerate its development, while drawing on the experience and strategic support of the BCP group.
