Emmanuelle Garinet has been appointed Director of Exploration for the Americas and Sub-Saharan Africa at Chevron. She will lead discovery operations in two of the most important regions for the oil industry.
A geophysicist by training, Garinet has over thirty years of experience in exploration. She began her career analyzing seismic data and assessing subsurface conditions before leading major programs in Nigeria, Gabon, and South America. At TotalEnergies, she contributed to the group’s transformation and spearheaded the discovery of the Venus field offshore Namibia, one of the largest recent deepwater discoveries.
The African Energy Chamber (AEC) welcomes her appointment and emphasizes that her expertise can attract new investments and strengthen cooperation between operators and governments. NJ Ayuk, President of the AEC, states that her leadership in exploration sends a strong signal for energy development in Africa.
In Africa, Garinet will oversee projects in Nigeria, Angola, and Namibia. In the Americas, the Director will monitor the Permian Basin, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Stabroek block in Guyana, strengthening Chevron’s presence in these key regions.
