Amadou Tidiane Gaye, recently appointed as the Director General of the Directorate of Public Accounting and Treasury (DGCPT) to replace Cheikh Tidiane Diop, now holds a central role in managing Senegal’s public finances. This appointment marks a significant milestone in his career of over 20 years serving the State.
Originally from Dakar, Amadou Tidiane Gaye has shaped his path from a young age. He obtained his Certificate of Primary and Elementary Studies (CEPE) at Bara Guèye School in Hann Plage, before continuing his secondary education at Isaac Foster College in Plateau, where he earned his Brevet de Fin d’Études Moyennes (BFEM). He then completed his baccalaureate in economics at Lamine Guèye High School in Dakar in 1993.
Beyond his administrative responsibilities, Amadou Tidiane Gaye is deeply involved in knowledge transmission. He co-founded the Senegalese Association of Students in Analysis and Economic Policy and has been teaching at the National School of Administration (ENA) since 2008, where he lectures on local government accounting. This dual role as both a practitioner and educator highlights his commitment to shaping the next generation of public sector managers.
