Emmanuel Lamptey has been appointed Executive Director of Digital Banking at United Bank for Africa (UBA). With 25 years of experience in retail banking, corporate banking, asset management, brokerage, insurance, and microfinance, he has led projects in more than 30 African countries. His background allows him to combine financial expertise with a digital vision.
A graduate of Harvard Business School, a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (UK), and holding a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Cape Coast (Ghana), he brings a rare profile combining international education and practical operational experience.
UBA, present in 20 African countries and across four continents, serves more than 50 million customers. Lamptey’s appointment is part of the group’s leadership renewal and underscores the importance of digital transformation for the bank.
His mission: to develop accessible digital services, improve the customer experience, and promote financial inclusion, particularly for unbanked populations. With his expertise and leadership, the new Director will be a key player in propelling UBA into the future of African digital finance.
