Greg Field is appointed CEO of Deep Yellow

Greg Field has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Deep Yellow, the company that owns the Tumas uranium project in Namibia. He has nearly 30 years of experience in the mining sector. Field previously worked at Rio Tinto, where he was responsible for the development of major projects.

This appointment comes after the resignation of John Borshoff last October. Borshoff had postponed the final investment decision for Tumas pending a rise in uranium prices. According to Chris Salisbury, Executive Chairman of Deep Yellow, Greg Field’s arrival is timely to finalize the investment and launch the project.

The Tumas project aims to become Namibia’s fourth uranium mine. The mine will be able to produce 3.6 million pounds of uranium per year for more than 22 years. Construction will require an initial investment of $360 million, and production is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2027.
