Gaëtan Van Belle takes over as head of Brakina in Burkina Faso

Gaëtan Van Belle has been appointed General Manager of Refreshing Drinks of Burkina Faso (Brakina), a subsidiary of the Castel Group. In this position, his responsibility concerns two factories located in Ouagadougou and Bobo-Dioulasso, after nearly ten years at the head of Simba Breweries (Brasimba) in the DRC.

A graduate of the Catholic University of Louvain, Gaëtan Van Belle began his career at British American Tobacco, as a financial controller for the DRC and Cameroon. His career continues at the Company of Refreshing Drinks of Gabon (Sobraga), a subsidiary of Castel, where the functions performed included the sales and marketing department, then the operating department.

In Brasimba, his missions consisted in developing the production and distribution of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, covering the south and east of the DRC. His acquired experience has made it possible to strengthen the management of teams and factories in the field, as well as to improve operational efficiency.

This appointment reflects the group’s desire to strengthen its subsidiaries with experienced managers. In 2024, the group, present in 21 countries, generated 4.8 billion euros in sales, confirming its major position in the brewing industry in Africa.
