The PRRM discovers the Congolese agricultural model

Exemplary Agricultural Infrastructure Visited

Development models based on agriculture, livestock farming, and local production were highlighted during the official visit of the President of the Refoundation, Randrianirina Michaël, on May 13, 2026, to Oyo, Congo.

This stop in N’Gol’Odoua provided an opportunity to discover several infrastructures that illustrate the potential of the Congolese agricultural sector. The presidential couple first visited the N’Gol’Odoua les Bains fish farm. The site includes several ponds for raising fish, as well as a large cultivated area where fruits and vegetables are grown and sold in local markets. Created approximately twenty years ago under the impetus of President Denis Sassou N’Guesso, this farm is now considered a success story in local production.

The farm’s results impressed the visitors. A large portion of the meals served during the visit came directly from the garden’s harvest and products from the fish farms. This demonstrates that good organization and appropriate expertise allow for sufficient local production.

The presidential delegation then visited a dairy processing plant located on the site. This facility can process up to 1,000 liters of milk per day. This equipment contributes to the development of the dairy sector and strengthens local processing.

The visit continued at a large cattle ranch in Oyo. This site now has more than 20,000 head of cattle, whereas it housed only about 100 imported cattle fifteen years ago.

According to the organizers, this mission aims to share experiences in the fields of agriculture and livestock farming, while demonstrating that such a model can inspire other African countries with similar resources.
