A Successful Mandate
Several priority sectors marked the mandate of Saidi Othman Yakubu, outgoing Ambassador of the United Republic of Tanzania to the Comoros.
At the end of his mission, President Azali Assoumani awarded him the rank of Knight of the Order of the Green Crescent, in recognition of his services to the country.
In the health sector, the Ambassador supported several medical campaigns that enabled thousands of Comorians to receive quality care. These initiatives strengthened cooperation between the health institutions of the two countries and facilitated access to services for the population.
In the economic sector, he encouraged the participation of Tanzanian companies in the Comoros, particularly in information technology and waste management. These actions fostered trade and the implementation of concrete projects, while supporting local development.
On the diplomatic front, Saidi Othman Yakubu oversaw the first session of the Joint Standing Commission. This meeting established a lasting framework for cooperation between the two countries and led to the signing of several important agreements. Other projects are still underway, demonstrating a shared commitment to strengthening bilateral ties.
Deeply moved, he expressed his gratitude for this honor. “This decoration symbolizes the strong and fraternal relations between our nations,” he declared. The diplomat thanked the leaders of both countries for their support and affirmed that he would cherish precious memories of the Comoros. “I leave the country with the firm hope that our collaboration will continue to grow stronger,” he added.
