Abdessamad Moutei was appointed President of the North Africa Internet Governance Forum (NAIGF) at the advisory committee meeting held online on January 13, 2026.
A recognized expert in digital policy and internet governance, he is a Professor of Higher Education and Deputy Director in charge of Continuing Education and Internships at the Higher Institute of Information and Communication (ISIC). In his first statement, the new President announced that he will focus his term on implementing an ambitious agenda to strengthen the integration of North African countries into the global digital economy, while protecting the region’s digital sovereignty and promoting a secure and accessible infrastructure for all.
The NAIGF, under the auspices of the United Nations Internet Governance Forum (IGF), aims to create a shared vision on digital issues, strengthen cooperation between governments, businesses, and civil society, and address the challenges of cybersecurity and the digital divide.
