The Office of the President of Seychelles has officially appointed David Bianchi as Principal Secretary for Civil Aviation, Ports and Shipping. This appointment, effective April 15, 2025, marks a new milestone in the long career of this senior official.
Holding a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Bianchi has over three decades of experience in the civil service. The new Secretary began his career in 1994 as an economist at the Ministry of Industry, before rising through the ranks to Director General of the Industrial Management and Development Division.
David Bianchi also distinguished himself at the Seychelles Investment Board as Technical Director, and later at the Seychelles Ports Authority, where he held several key positions, including Director of Business Development. In 2009, he took over the Transport Division and concurrently became Commissioner for Road Transport.
Prior to his recent appointment, Bianchi served as Director of Strategy since 2017. His knowledge of the port, maritime, and transportation sectors makes him a strategic choice for this key position.
