Mohamed Benchaâboun has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Maroc Telecom, succeeding Abdeslam Ahizoune, who led the company for more than 20 years. This appointment, announced by the telephone operator’s Supervisory Board, gives him a two-year term, until March 1, 2027.
Maroc Telecom, a leader in the telecommunications sector, operates in 11 African countries, including Morocco, Benin, Côte d’Ivoire and Gabon. His appointment is seen as a strategic change for the company, which seeks to strengthen its presence and competitiveness in the African market.
With a wealth of experience in the fields of finance and telecommunications, Benchaâboun previously held key positions, such as Ambassador of Morocco to France and Minister of Economy, Finance and Administrative Reform. His expertise in regulation and economics is considered a valuable asset to the company.
