Fostering entrepreneurship in Mauritius
A three-day trade show is set for June 28-30, 2024, at the New Parking of Flacq. The event aims to inspire and connect businesswomen.
The National Women Entrepreneur Council (NWEC), under the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family Welfare, organized the workshop. About sixty women entrepreneurs participated, aiming to promote local products and showcase NWEC’s talents. The Minister stated that NWEC, founded in 1999, supports women entrepreneurs and promotes entrepreneurship in Mauritius. Over 1,000 women are now registered with NWEC, receiving support in business management and product marketing. These women operate in four key areas: handicrafts, textiles, agri-food, and services.
