The Solid’R Health Fund Supports Concrete Actions for People with Disabilities
A total of €97,567 is supporting eight projects for people with disabilities in Réunion.
The Endowment Fund of the University Hospital of Réunion announced these results on November 7, following its 2025 call for projects for the Solid’R Health Fund.
The board of directors, meeting on October 30, selected eight out of thirteen applications, according to the official press release. Each project provides a concrete response to the needs of patients with disabilities. The fund values initiatives that promote solidarity, inclusion, and well-being within healthcare facilities.
The funding enables the purchase of adapted sports equipment, the implementation of adapted physical activities such as rugby or basketball, and the creation of therapeutic gardens. Other projects include equipment for children with disabilities, as well as equipment to facilitate outdoor activities and access to the beach. These actions improve daily life and strengthen patients’ independence.
Hospital teams, partner associations, and several local stakeholders are working together to implement these initiatives. Their collaborative efforts promote better patient care and strengthen the link between the hospital and the community.
Public solidarity makes this success possible. In June, a fundraising campaign in Carrefour stores across the island raised nearly €99,000 thanks to customer donations and staff commitment.
The Solid’R Health Fund also relies on the support of several sponsors: Crédit Agricole de La Réunion, Groupe CRC, Carrefour Réunion, CEGELEC, and SBTPC-SOGEA. Their contributions finance concrete projects that benefit hospitalized patients.
