Khadim Bamba Diagne has been appointed Permanent Secretary of the Strategic Orientation Committee for Oil and Gas (COS Petrogaz) in Senegal. At 45, he combines academic expertise with a commitment to his country’s development.
A lecturer at Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar, Diagne headed the Economic and Monetary Research Laboratory (LAREM) from 2014 to 2024. He holds two master’s degrees and a doctorate in banking economics. He is also the author of several books on the Senegalese economy and society.
Since his appointment in July 2024, Khadim Bamba Diagne has been working to renegotiate oil contracts with major companies such as BP and Woodside. His goal is to recover USD 300 million for the state over 25 years.
