Osahon Akpata has been appointed Managing Director of CANEX Creations Incorporated (CCInc), a subsidiary of the African Export Development Fund (AEDF). The appointment was confirmed by the Board of Directors at the Fourth Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF2025) organized by Afreximbank in Algiers.

Prior to this role, Akpata led CANEX Creations within the Afreximbank Group. His responsibilities included launching the entity, defining its strategy, establishing the governance framework, and building the initial investment portfolio.

His career spans finance, strategy, and business development. At the Ecobank Group, his responsibilities included establishing new business units, overseeing SME activities, and strategic partnerships. At McKinsey & Company, his expertise has supported African banks and multinationals in implementing their strategies.

His professional career began at Johnson & Johnson in the United States, where his contributions to the pharmaceutical division were recognized. His projects in film, television, music, fashion, and visual arts have made him a recognized advisor in the African creative ecosystem.

Holding an MBA in Media Management from Columbia University, a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from Nottingham Trent University, and a Diploma in Strategic Partnerships from IMD Business School, his expertise provides CCInc with a solid foundation for its next phase of development.
