Karl Olutokun Toriola has been appointed Vice President for Francophone Africa at the MTN Group. The expert, former CEO of MTN Cameroon and current CEO of MTN Nigeria, will oversee operations in key countries such as Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, Benin, and Congo-Brazzaville.
This appointment is part of a strategic reorganization, linked to the Ambition 2025 plan, which focuses on connectivity, digital financial services, and the development of digital infrastructure.
This manager has extensive knowledge of the region: between 2010 and 2015, the management of the Cameroonian subsidiary led the launch of Mobile Money and the deployment of 3G and 3G+ networks, with a market share of 52%.
Prior to this assignment, the expert held senior positions in Benin and Congo-Brazzaville. The management of the Nigerian subsidiary, one of the group’s largest, now brings solid experience to support expansion and growth in mature and emerging markets in French-speaking Africa.
