Eramet entrusts the Gabon value chain to Clément Jakymiw

Clément Jakymiw has been appointed Director of Value Chain Transformation in Gabon at the French mining group Eramet. This position was created following the Gabonese government’s announcement to ban raw manganese exports starting in January 2029.

The expert, who joined Eramet in 2023, previously held the position of Deputy Director of Operations, responsible for manganese ore. Jakymiw will report directly to CEO Paulo Castellari. His experience in operations management and industrial ore processing is a major asset for the group.

The Director’s mission will be to develop the manganese value chain in Gabon, in line with the country’s industrialization strategy. The company aims to identify new opportunities to support local economic development and strengthen ore processing on site.

In 2022, Gabon produced 10.4 million tonnes of manganese, more than 70% of which was produced by Comilog, a local subsidiary of Eramet. With this appointment, the new manager becomes a key player in the industrial transformation and development of Gabon’s mining sector.
