Rodolphe Ruffié-Farrugia has been appointed partner at the international law firm K&L Gates. Based between Perth, Paris, Tokyo, and Taipei, this French arbitrator is recognized for his expertise in international commercial arbitration, with a strong practice on the African continent.
Prior to this appointment, the specialist practiced as counsel at Clifford Chance in Perth, where he represented several mining companies in arbitrations against the Republic of Congo before the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID). His clients included Australian groups such as Sundance Resources, Equatorial Resources, Avima Iron Ore, and the British company Midus Holdings, engaged in disputes related to the withdrawal of mining permits.
He also represented Firefinch in an arbitration concerning a subcontract for the Malian Morila gold mine. His practice extends to the energy, sports, video games, and healthcare sectors. Trained in France (Paris-Nanterre, Paris-Saclay) and in the United States (Georgetown University), the manager enriched his career with experiences at Archipel in Paris and Sidley Austin in Geneva, before joining Clifford Chance in 2019.
