Providing improved healthcare facilities

On June 22, Deputy Prime Minister Dr. Mohammad Anwar Husnoo officially opened the Community Health Center in Saint-François-Xavier, Port-Louis. The event was attended by the Minister of Health and Welfare, Members of Parliament, and other dignitaries.

The newly established Community Health Center, valued at approximately 765,000 USD, will provide a variety of services, including prenatal care, general consultations, family planning, diabetes management, dental care, and health education and counseling.

Dr. Husnoo emphasized that public health remains the government’s top priority. To enhance healthcare services, the government has constructed numerous medical clinics, regional health centers, and major healthcare infrastructure projects.

He noted that the nature of diseases has changed, with many people now suffering from conditions like diabetes and hypertension, which require regular monitoring. Residents of Saint-François-Xavier and nearby areas will now have easy access to these essential healthcare services.
