EU and Madagascar United for the Future of Youth
Europe Week opened on May 5, 2026, at the University of Ankatso, in the presence of the European Union Ambassador Roland Kobia, the French Ambassador Arnaud Guillois, and the German Ambassador Oliver Knoerich.
Under the theme “Investing in Youth,” this program highlights young people and their role in the country’s future. Throughout the week, booths, workshops, roundtables, and cultural activities foster exchanges between European representatives and Malagasy stakeholders.
These meetings provide opportunities for dialogue, sharing experiences, and showcasing initiatives undertaken in various sectors. These exchanges also help to better understand local realities and strengthen cooperation between partners.
Through the Global Gateway strategy, the European Union and its Member States are investing in several key areas, including education, health, employment, and public financial management.
The “Investing in Youth” initiative focuses primarily on improving access to public education, developing vocational training in future-oriented sectors, and ensuring access to essential medicines. The program also supports efforts to improve public financial management.
These actions aim to support Madagascar with enhanced training, modernized infrastructure, and projects that provide more opportunities for young people. In this context, Team France and other European partners are working alongside Madagascar and the European Union. Together, they are supporting ongoing projects and encouraging new initiatives.
