Improving Student Achievements in French

The Seychelles takes another step in strengthening its education system with the official launch of the pedagogical support program for French teachers.

This initiative aims to improve the quality of French language teaching in the country’s schools and to support the professional development of teachers.

Implemented in partnership with stakeholders in the education sector and Francophone cooperation institutions, this program aims to provide teachers with modern teaching tools, tailored training, and ongoing support in their classroom practices. It reflects a commitment to strengthening students’ language skills while promoting the role of French within the Seychellois education system.

At the launch ceremony, education officials emphasized the importance of language teaching in an increasingly open and connected world. French holds a special place in the Seychelles, where, alongside Seychellois Creole and English, it constitutes an important element of the national cultural and linguistic heritage.

The program includes training workshops, pedagogical coaching sessions, exchanges of best practices, and access to innovative educational resources. Teachers will also benefit from personalized support to help them adopt new teaching methods and manage challenges encountered in the classroom.

The authorities hope that this initiative will contribute to improving students’ performance in French and strengthening their mastery of the language, which remains an asset for higher education, international mobility, and career opportunities.
