Rabarijohn Francis re-elected as head of GEM

Rabarijohn Francis was re-elected President of the Group of Companies of Madagascar (GEM) at the General Assembly on March 19, for a new two-year term.

An experienced executive, he previously served as Managing Director for Southern Africa and the Indian Ocean at the international group Imperial Brands, an experience that has given him solid expertise in large-scale management. Francis has also worked for renowned French companies such as Chiva, Fraise/Star, and Bolloré. In Madagascar, he was Vice-President of the Industries Syndicate until 2019 and has served as an advisor to GEM since 2020, actively contributing to the group’s strategic work.

For this second term, he intends to strengthen the business climate, promote fair justice, and combat corruption. He also plans to accelerate economic transformation by adding value to local raw materials, thus reaffirming his vision and leadership in service of the Malagasy private sector.
