New award for SSR Airport

Best African Airport in the 2 to 5 Million Passengers Category

On March 11, 2014, the Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport (SSR) was honored by the Airports Council International (ACI) as the best airport in Africa within the 2 to 5 million passengers category.

Pawan Baichoo, CEO of Airports of Mauritius-Airport Terminal Operations Mauritius (AML-ATOL), expressed immense pride in receiving this prestigious award for the third consecutive year. The recognition is a testament to the outstanding customer experience provided at SSR, as evaluated by passengers participating in the renowned Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards. ASQ Awards are esteemed for their commitment to rigorous and scientific methodology.

ASQ surveys scrutinize over 30 key indicators of the airport passenger experience, offering a comprehensive assessment that encompasses factors such as cleanliness, ambiance, and service quality.

Luis Felipe de Oliveira, Managing Director of ACI World, highlighted his satisfaction in the growing participation in the ASQ program, which is anticipated to surpass 400 airports by 2023. « Excellence in customer service is not merely an objective; it is fundamental to ensuring that airports remain not only points of entry but also memorable destinations in their own right », emphasized Luis Felipe de Oliveira.
