Flight program adjustments for Air Austral
Réunion-based airline Air Austral has opted to maintain its operations in Seychelles despite temporarily halting ticket sales for flights between Réunion and Seychelles.
Speculations regarding flight suspensions circulated earlier today, February 15, 2024, through various Réunion media outlets. In response, the airline issued a press release clarifying that it is reevaluating its flight schedule following the grounding of two of its aircraft due to technical issues.
The company is exploring different scenarios for the upcoming IATA season, from April 1 to October 27, 2024. « Air Austral teams are actively developing scenarios for its flight program, considering the availability of its regional fleet », the statement emphasizes.
Air Austral confronts the indefinite grounding of two of its A220-300 aircraft out of the three in its fleet. Consequently, certain flights, notably to Seychelles and Madagascar, have been temporarily suspended for sale. Nonetheless, the company has yet to finalize the decision to suspend the route.
