900 Households Assisted in Boeny and Betsiboka
Continuing its previous efforts, Airtel Madagascar, in partnership with the Airtel Africa Foundation, is continuing its solidarity efforts with the populations of the Boeny and Betsiboka regions, affected by Cyclone Fytia.
Following initial assistance in Toamasina, a delegation traveled to the west of the country to support the affected families. In Majunga, a distribution operation provided 500 households with emergency kits and food supplies. This aid aims to meet the essential needs of households made vulnerable by the severe weather.
The initiative then expanded along National Route 4, notably to Maevatanana and Ambondromamy. In these also-affected areas, further distributions were organized to broaden the assistance provided to the communities. In total, 900 households received emergency kits and food supplies across all affected areas.
Present on the ground, Airtel Madagascar’s Marketing Director, Marcel Mpondo, emphasized the importance of solidarity in such situations. He stated that it is essential to provide rapid assistance while also supporting communities in their reconstruction efforts.
“Faced with the consequences of a natural disaster, solidarity is essential. In these times of emergency, it is important to provide immediate aid, but also to support communities in a process of rebuilding their lives,” he said.
