Strengthening Madagascar’s Appeal for International Investments
During a meeting in Ambohijanaka, a closer collaboration was established between the Office of National Mines and Strategic Industries (OMNIS) team and the Financial Intelligence Service of Madagascar (SAMIFIN) team.
The two entities also discussed the approach to adopt to enhance Madagascar’s appeal for international investments, particularly in the mining and industrial sectors. In this perspective, the two organizations outlined their respective roles. OMNIS is responsible for managing the country’s mining and industrial resources, while SAMIFIN will focus on combating money laundering and terrorist financing (AML/CFT).
Thus, both entities commit to ensuring clear, secure, and effective management of these strategic sectors, particularly by protecting Madagascar’s economy from illegal transactions.
Moreover, the continuation of this collaboration between OMNIS and SAMIFIN involves the conclusion of a cooperation agreement and a tangible commitment to a sustainable partnership. This agreement emphasizes economic growth and transparency in Madagascar’s strategic sectors.
