More than 200 participants expected
Sustainable agriculture, biomass, biodiversity, artificial intelligence, and blue biotechnology are at the heart of the 15th Indian Ocean Islands Economic Forum (FEIOI), scheduled for April 27-29 in Moroni.
The event will bring together more than 200 participants from the business community in the region and across the African continent. A few days before its opening, the organizers presented the program at a press conference held on April 21 at the headquarters of the Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, and Crafts (UCCIA), in the presence of the Minister of Economy.
This 15th edition, themed “Strengthening Regional Synergies,” aims to strengthen cooperation among the countries of the Indian Ocean. The organizers hope to encourage partnerships, the sharing of experiences, and the creation of joint projects among the region’s economic stakeholders.
The Minister of Economy, Moustoifa Hassane Mohamed, hailed this as an important event for the Comoros. According to him, the forum showcases local expertise and offers an opportunity to strengthen the country’s position in the region. “The government is committed to fully supporting this initiative,” he emphasized.
The program includes several activities, such as B2B meetings, company visits, and economic tours. These visits will focus on various sectors, including industry, tourism, and the circular economy. Participants will also be able to explore investment and partnership opportunities.
Discussions will also address current issues, such as the impact of international crises on island economies. Sustainable agriculture and marine resources will also be central to the discussions.
