A Journey to the Heart of Villages and Traditions
Madagascar is attracting attention at the Solidarissimo 2025 trade fair, held from November 7 to 9 at the Colmar Exhibition Center in France.
The 16th edition highlights responsible and sustainable tourism. The Great Island represents Africa and showcases its culture and human resources.
The Malagasy delegation includes 11 co-exhibitors, including six tour operators, four Regional Tourism Offices, and the national airline, Madagascar Airlines, according to the official press release from the Ministry of Tourism. This return to Colmar, following a notable participation in 2022, increases the destination’s visibility. The goal is to present a welcoming, safe, and accessible country in all its tourist regions.
“Our country’s presence reflects our commitment to proudly representing it,” stated Ionjaniaina Ranaivoariamanana, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Tourism Authority.
According to him, Madagascar is captivating for its biodiversity and spectacular landscapes. However, it is the encounter with local communities that truly attracts travelers. Several immersive stays allow visitors to stay in the heart of villages and share in the daily lives of families. Visitors also discover traditional skills such as crafts, basketry, and rope making. Each tour becomes a rich and rewarding human experience, full of exchanges and discoveries.
“Solidarity tourism is growing rapidly in the country. This momentum supports local communities and stimulates the regional economy. Solidarissimo provides a unique platform for creating partnerships. Cooperation with Alsace Destination Tourisme and Tourisme Sans Frontières supports responsible and sustainable tourism,” he added.
A highlight of the event was the signing of a tripartite agreement between the Malagasy authorities and TSF, to prepare for the 10th International Conference on Responsible and Sustainable Tourism at ITM 2026. This project strengthens Madagascar’s international standing in the sustainable tourism sector.
Solidarissimo confirms Madagascar’s role among the most inspiring African destinations. Travel becomes an act of sharing and respect. Connection takes precedence over consumption, and solidarity guides every experience.
The French market remains strategically important. Between January and September 2025, it represents 37% of tourist arrivals. The trade show offers a unique opportunity to strengthen Madagascar’s image as a human, authentic, and responsible destination.
