Alhousseini Daouda has been appointed Director General of the Nigerien Pharmaceutical Industries (NI-PHAR), a state-owned company established to strengthen Niger’s health sovereignty.
A healthcare professional, he possesses extensive experience in the fields of pharmacy and biology. His career has allowed him to acquire strong skills in biological analysis, quality control, and adherence to health standards—essential elements for the pharmaceutical industry.
He has also held several positions in organizations related to public health and the pharmaceutical sector. These roles have given him a thorough understanding of the Nigerien healthcare system, as well as experience in administrative management and project coordination.
With this experience, the new Director General is tasked with leading the development of NI-PHAR, which was established in February 2025 to produce medicines, serums, solutions, and various medical devices locally. This framework will have the mission of strengthening production capacities, modernizing facilities, mobilizing technical and financial partners and promoting national skills in the service of public health.
