Davis Mathiot has been appointed Director General of the Home Care Agency, according to an announcement made by the President’s office. He will now head this institution, which is responsible for providing home care and support services for the elderly and vulnerable in Seychelles.
The new Director General has extensive experience in public administration, particularly in the areas of social protection and public policy. Throughout his career, he has held several senior government positions.
Mathiot notably served as Executive Director at the Ministry of Industry and Enterprise, where he was involved in project management and the coordination of various public policies. Prior to that, he worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as Second Secretary for Bilateral Affairs, further developing his experience in cooperation and institutional relations.
Earlier in his career, he also held several positions within the Social Protection Agency. As Director of Operations, he oversaw operational activities and approved the allocation of social benefits such as retirement pensions, social assistance, home care, and disability allowances.
Holding an Executive Master’s degree in Global Public Diplomacy and Sustainable Development, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Public Relations, and Media from Middlesex University, Davis Mathiot will now use his experience to develop and improve home care services in the country.
