Gervais Atta, the banker known as the « Indian Ocean Banker », appointed as the head of AFG Bank Madagascar

After a successful tenure at BNI Madagascar (2018-2020) and serving as the head of BIC Comoros (2020-2022), Ivorian banker Gervais Atta has been entrusted with launching the operations of the Atlantic Financial Group Holding/AFG Holding, operating under the name AFG Bank Madagascar, in the last quarter of 2023.

Under Gervais Atta’s leadership, BIC Comoros achieved a positive balance of over 1 million EUR in its last fiscal year, marking a turnaround after seven years of negative results. In the Comoros Islands, the banker from the Indian Ocean region left a significant impact with his managerial and leadership skills. Gervais Atta, a graduate of the École Supérieure de Banque in Paris, holds an Executive MBA from Sorbonne Business School-IAE Paris and Georgetown University in the United States.

Furthermore, AFG Bank Madagascar aims to capitalize on the experience and dynamism of this seasoned banker to establish a lasting presence in the Malagasy economic landscape, providing support to both businesses and individuals.
