The appointment of Ron Weiss as CEO of Jirama was officially confirmed during the cabinet meeting on May 2, 2025, following the announcement made a few weeks prior. In the presence of the Minister of Energy and Hydrocarbons, Olivier Jean-Baptiste, the new leader of Jirama outlined his priorities to the board of directors of the national water and electricity company.
During this occasion, the new CEO established three key priorities: « customer satisfaction, financial recovery of Jirama, and the transition of fuel-powered power plants to renewable energy sources ». These priorities form part of a broader vision aimed at modernizing and optimizing the energy sector in Madagascar.
