Seychelles Tourism Careers fair

Highlighting numerous opportunities in the tourism sector

Job seekers and young people interested in joining the Seychellois tourism sector gained a broader perspective of the available opportunities during the tourism careers fair held on May 29 at the National Museum.

Diana Quatre, Director of Human Resource Development at the Department of Tourism, told SNA: « We felt it was necessary to do more awareness work about the opportunities that exist in the sector. More often, when we hear someone talk about a career in tourism, many think of service jobs like waiters, bartenders, or cooks. The purpose of this one-day event was to show that there are numerous possibilities and opportunities in the tourism sector. »

Among the organizations showcasing career opportunities were tourism establishments such as Four Seasons, the country’s Hilton properties, and the national airline Air Seychelles.

Ali Al Hakim, General Manager of Food and Beverage at Four Seasons, explained that the establishment participated because it is looking for students and passionate young people who will grow with them. Most visitors to the fair were high school students currently choosing a career and those already taking courses at the Seychelles Tourism Academy (STA).
