The year 2026 looks set to be productive for Malagasy industry

MIDSP Sets the Bar High

90% of the Ministry of Industrialization and Private Sector Development’s (MIDSP) “Quick Wins” projects have already been completed in just two months. This result demonstrates the dynamism and strong collaboration among all members of the Ministry, who are determined to advance the country’s industrial development.

These projects aim to support private sector growth and strengthen national productivity. Key achievements include the revision of industrial property legislation, the preparation of the implementing decree for the industrial development law, and the promotion of the “One District One Factory” (ODOF) program. This program aims to reduce imports and encourage local production in each district.

At the first flag-raising ceremony of 2026, Minister Andriniaina Rasoarahona commended these results and announced that 2026 will be the year of productivity for the MIDSP. The Minister reiterated that activities will continue and be strengthened to support the government’s new economic approach.

He encouraged all his colleagues to continue working together to achieve the established objectives. “We must remain united to contribute to the nation’s development,” he stated. Rasoarahona also thanked his teams for their commitment and wished them success in the new year.

For their part, the ministry staff presented their best wishes to the MIDSP leadership and offered them gifts as a token of appreciation. This symbolic moment demonstrated the positive atmosphere and team spirit within the ministry.
