Innovation and Sustainable Development in Action
The Interreg VI Mozambique Channel 2021-2027 program is opening its first calls for projects in Mayotte.
With a budget of over €10 million, the initiative aims to foster regional cooperation between Mayotte, Réunion, Madagascar, Mozambique, and the Comoros. The project supports economic development, environmental protection, the fight against climate change, access to social rights, and local governance.
Two calls for projects are launching this phase. The first, identified as A No. 2025/06, concerns adaptation to climate change and risk prevention. This latter encourages actions capable of strengthening the resilience of territories to climate hazards, such as sustainable water management, coastal protection, and innovation in agriculture.
The second call, A No. 2025/07, targets the health sector. This program seeks to improve access to healthcare for all and strengthen local healthcare systems through innovative projects in prevention, primary care, and emergency health management.
Project leaders must submit their applications via the E-Synergie CTE platform before December 15, 2025. Any project submitted after this date will not receive any consideration, the Departmental Council reminds. This rule underscores the importance of meeting deadlines to participate in the program.
With these initiatives, Mayotte and its regional partners aim to create a strong network for cross-border collaboration. Associations, businesses, and local stakeholders have a unique opportunity to contribute to structuring projects. These actions strengthen sustainable development, public health, and climate resilience in the Mozambique Channel region.
The Interreg Mozambique Channel program thus provides a concrete framework for developing innovative and sustainable solutions, while promoting the exchange of skills and the pooling of resources between the Indian Ocean territories.
