New Infrastructure for the Community
Several infrastructure projects have been completed in Ambohimasimbola, a village in the rural commune of Soalandy, to ensure access to drinking water for residents. The “Ambohimasimbola Misotro Rano” project was officially handed over to the community on November 13, 2025, providing a sustainable solution to water supply challenges.
The initiative benefited from the support of the NGO Club Export France Madagascar and the local diaspora, including the Ratsimbazafy, Rasoazanany, Razanamasy, and Raelimanana families. Approximately 1,200 residents will benefit from the new facilities and improvements to the existing network.
Five new standpipes serve the most remote neighborhoods, reducing the distance residents have to travel to access water. Three existing standpipes have been renovated to ensure a continuous and reliable water supply. An additional water intake strengthens the supply, while a 50 m³ reservoir stabilizes the available water volume.
The physical treatment plant has been modernized to produce water that meets health standards. At the public primary school, the water point and handwashing facilities have been improved, encouraging students to adopt good hygiene practices.
The HDPE pipes have undergone complete rehabilitation, increasing the durability and resilience of the network. Thanks to this infrastructure, residents benefit from more reliable access to water, reducing health risks and improving their daily living conditions.
Local authorities emphasize the importance of this initiative for local development. The project contributes to the health, education, and well-being of the population. It also demonstrates the positive impact of collaboration between technical stakeholders, the community, and the diaspora.
