Sharing success secrets with Madagascar
Japan shared some of its successful recipes during the fifth edition of the JICA Chair in Madagascar. The event took place on Friday at the Radisson Blu Antananarivo and welcomed over 200 participants, including students from the University of Antananarivo and representatives from Malagasy ministries.
Two renowned speakers addressed the topics « Japanese Media : Their Golden Age and Upcoming Challenges » and « Six Decades of Japanese Cooperation for Africa’s Development : Trends and Perspectives ». The program aims to share Japan’s modernization experience with the leaders and future leaders of partner countries like Madagascar.
This project strengthens the relationship between Japan and Madagascar and encourages collaboration in areas of mutual interest. The topic of Japanese media was discussed by Kaori Hayashi, Executive Vice President of the University of Tokyo. The similarities and differences between the media situations in Japan and Madagascar were explored. She emphasized the shared issue of misinformation and suggested public education and the promotion of digital innovation as concrete measures to combat this threat.
The JICA Chair strengthens the relationship between Japan and Madagascar. It facilitates an exchange of ideas and strategies essential for Madagascar’s future development.
