Developing women’s skills and support
The Association of Women Self-Entrepreneurs in Madagascar (Afam) has launched the « Ampela Mandraharaha » program to boost female entrepreneurship. Recently, eight women entrepreneurs received extensive support through this initiative.
The three-month program offers various training courses, helping participants understand the business world better. Holy Harinoro Raoelinarivo, Afam’s General Secretary, emphasizes the association’s goal to « develop women’s skills and support them in different areas ».
Women entrepreneurs often face the challenge of managing multiple aspects of a project. To address this, the program provides essential skills to enhance their experience. Andrianina Andriamanandraibe, president and founder of Afam, notes that « despite the training being open to all, participants are expected to complete their business plans and turn their visions into reality ». Participants agree that being bold, professional, and entrepreneurial is crucial for women to progress and succeed.
