The 17th joint conference of the OECD and the Regional Center of Excellence occurred at the Méridien on June 20 and 21, 2024, with the theme Digital Finance in Africa.

The protocol session, opened by Harvest Seegolam, Governor of the Bank of Mauritius, and Kona Yerukunondu, President of the FSC, confirmed that the Central Bank’s Innovation Hub would soon become a reality, with its official launch scheduled for September.

The inaugural panel addressed the limitations of decentralized finance to promote financial inclusion. The government of Mauritius was one of the first countries to adopt legislation on Crypto Assets by passing the Virtual Asset and Initial Token Offer Services Act.
