Strengthening bilateral trade relations
A B2B networking session was organized by the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) with a high-level American delegation at the MCCI Business School.
This initiative, led by the U.S. Embassy in Mauritius, was part of the Mauritius-US Business Summit. The event featured representatives from key sectors such as pharmaceuticals, biomedicine, financial services, ICT, consulting, engineering, and energy. The American delegation, headed by Cynthia Griffin, the Minister Counselor for Commercial Affairs for Sub-Saharan Africa, included representatives from renowned companies. Notable participants included Charles River Laboratories and Citi, a major financial institution. Fortinet, a leading cybersecurity company, represented the technology sector, while companies like Ashipa Electric and Talus Renewables highlighted the burgeoning energy sector.
On the Mauritian side, MCCI members from diverse industries participated, showcasing the island’s varied economy. The discussions were enriched by the presence of companies from the manufacturing, textile, agro-food, financial services, and information technology sectors.
The opening ceremony was led by Drishtysingh Ramdenee, Secretary-General of the MCCI, who emphasized the growing importance of economic relations between Mauritius and the United States. He stated that this meeting marks a significant step in strengthening bilateral trade relations.
