Emmanuel Macron Visits the Réunion Village
The International Agricultural Show kicked off on February 21st at the Porte de Versailles Exhibition Center in Paris.
President Emmanuel Macron visited the stand of Réunion Island, located for the first time alongside the regions of mainland France and its overseas territories in Hall 7.2.
The “Réunion Village” brought together 34 exhibitors showcasing local products and expertise. To the sounds of the group Trio Métiss’ and its maloya dancers, the President toured the stands without joining in the dancing.
Accompanied by the Minister of Agriculture, Annie Genevard, and the Minister for Overseas Territories, Naïma Moutchou, Emmanuel Macron spoke with producers and artisans to discover the diversity of their products. Vanilla, exotic fruits, jams, sweets, spices, honey, chocolate, and ice cream made up this showcase of Réunion’s flavors.
The visit highlighted the island’s expertise and provided support to its producers. This initiative also underscored the importance of promoting local products and increasing their visibility to the public. The President was able to observe the quality and variety of the offerings, which combine agricultural traditions with innovation.
The meeting concluded with a tasting in the institutional area, giving visitors the opportunity to sample Réunion specialties.
