On May 7, 2025, King Mohammed VI launched the construction of a regional emergency reserve platform in Ameur, in the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra region. This project is part of a national program aimed at establishing a large platform in each region of Morocco to store essential goods (tents, blankets, beds, medicines, foodstuffs, etc.). The objective is to provide a rapid response in the event of natural or industrial disasters.
A comprehensive program of 12 regional platforms
The Rabat-Salé-Kénitra platform will cover 20 hectares, with four warehouses of 5,000 m² each, two shelters for oversized equipment, a helipad, and parking lots. The allocated budget is 30 million USD, and construction is scheduled to take 12 months.
This project is part of a comprehensive program of 12 regional platforms, spanning 240 hectares and 36 warehouses in total, with a total investment of approximately 7 billion dirhams (2 billion for construction and 5 billion for the acquisition of products and equipment). The platforms in more populated regions (such as Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, Casablanca-Settat, Marrakech-Safi, etc.) will have four warehouses of 20,000 m² in total, while those in other regions will have two warehouses of 10,000 m².
These platforms enable strategic inventory management to meet relief, rescue, and disaster relief needs, thereby strengthening Morocco’s resilience to various crises. They will be managed according to strict standards to ensure the quality and rapid availability of essential products.
Types of Products and Equipment Stored in These Platforms
Morocco’s regional emergency reserve platforms store several types of essential products and equipment to quickly respond to natural or industrial disasters.

- Drinking Water and Electricity: Water purification systems, mobile generators
- Emergency Supplies: Equipment for combating floods, earthquakes, landslides, and chemical and radiological hazards
- Health: Emergency medicine stocks, 12 modular field hospitals with 50 beds each, operating modules, and advanced medical posts
The storage of food and medical products will be managed by specialized teams, with strict regulations that comply with international standards to ensure their quality and immediate availability.
