Strengthening Bilateral Relations
Following a successful working visit to Gabon, Colonel Michaël Randrianirina, President of the Refoundation of the Republic of Madagascar, is continuing his African diplomatic tour with an official visit to Abuja, the capital of Nigeria.
This mission is part of a broader effort to strengthen bilateral relations and consolidate strategic partnerships between Madagascar and several African powers.
During his stay in Gabon, the Malagasy Head of State held numerous discussions with Gabonese authorities to explore new opportunities for cooperation in the economic, institutional, and development sectors. This visit also reaffirmed the two countries’ commitment to strengthening their historical ties and sharing their respective experiences in governance and national transformation.
Colonel Randrianirina’s arrival in Abuja marks a new phase in this diplomatic initiative. Nigeria, the continent’s largest economy and a major player in African diplomacy, represents a strategic partner for Madagascar. The discussions are expected to cover several issues of common interest, including trade, investment, regional security, energy, and cooperation within African organizations.
This visit comes at a time when Malagasy authorities are seeking to diversify their international partnerships and strengthen their presence on the African stage. By increasing meetings with leaders across the continent, the President of the Refoundation party is demonstrating his commitment to promoting active diplomacy that serves Madagascar’s economic development and influence.
Through this tour, Colonel Michaël Randrianirina is thus reaffirming his ambition to position Madagascar as a key player in major African challenges and to strengthen South-South cooperation for the benefit of the people.
