Professor Abdelaziz Hilali has been appointed to Board Seat 1 (North Africa) following the AFRINIC elections.
With a PhD in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics from Joseph Fourier University in Grenoble, this information technology specialist has established himself as a leading figure in higher education. A professor at Morocco’s National Institute of Posts and Telecommunications (INPT), his career combines academic research, training, and leadership responsibilities.
His commitment extends beyond academia. Founder of the Internet Society Morocco in 1994, Hilali currently serves as President of the Mediterranean Federation of Internet Associations. His career also includes leadership of AFRALO and active participation in the Internet Governance Forum’s Multi-Stakeholder Advisory Group between 2009 and 2013, an experience that has strengthened the African voice in international debates.
