Heather Berrange has been appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director on the Board of Directors of Standard Bank Group Limited and The Standard Bank of South Africa Limited (SBSA).

This 60-year-old accounting expert holds a degree from the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) and a Certificate in Advanced Banking from the University of Johannesburg (UJ). A Chartered Accountant in South Africa, Heather Berrange has 37 years of experience at KPMG. During this career, she held several leadership positions before being promoted to Partner in 1997, a position she held until her retirement in March 2024.

As an Audit Partner between 2016 and 2020, this new manager oversaw the audits of Standard Bank Group and SBSA, as well as those of several major South African banking institutions, strengthening her strong expertise in the financial sector. Upon taking office, the new board member will participate in the Audit, Risk Management and Capital Committees of Standard Bank Group and SBSA. The group is delighted with this addition and the expected contributions.
