Since May 1, 2025, Léandre Bassolé, originally from Burkina Faso, has been Director General of the Regional Office for Development, Integration and Business Delivery for Central Africa. The new Director General also serves as Office Manager for Cameroon.
Prior to this new role, Bassolé was Deputy Director General of the Bank Group’s Office for East Africa, where he managed a USD 13 billion portfolio across 13 countries. He was also a key player in major projects, including the USD 7.8 billion Ethiopian Airlines Airport City project.
Between 2017 and 2024, Léandre Bassolé headed the Bank’s office in Guinea, where he helped grow the Bank’s portfolio from USD 240 million to over USD 728 million. Prior to this, he held senior positions within the Bank, including that of senior macroeconomist, and contributed to the implementation of innovative financial solutions.
