Yellow Car: Huguette Bello signs a contract to modernize the network

A strategic agreement to connect and facilitate travel

On September 4, 2025, Regional President Huguette Bello signed a new contract for the Yellow Car network.

This partnership brings together Cap Run, which brings together Transdev Service Réunion and GIE Activ, a group of ten local transport companies. The contract covers seven years, from 2025 to 2032.

The Region has several objectives: modernizing the fleet, strengthening the transport offering, and making fares more affordable, with free travel for vulnerable groups. “We have 900,000 Réunion residents and 400,000 vehicles on the road. We want to help the population travel more efficiently. We have been working with transport companies for a year to achieve this new delegation,” Huguette Bello said during her speech.

Starting December 1, 2025, the Yellow Car network will expand its offerings: a 10% increase in services, 40 trips per day, 11 new double-decker coaches, and 72 new IVECO coaches. “These new vehicles will better meet the needs of residents on an island where the car remains the primary means of transportation,” she added.

According to her, the Region supports modern, accessible, and sustainable transportation, in line with the Mobility Roadmap and the future Réunion Express project, which aims to connect regions more efficiently and limit car dependency.
