Tourism and Hospitality: A New Class of 181 graduates in Seychelles

181 students completed their training at the Seychelles Tourism Academy and received their diplomas on August 7, 2025. The ceremony was held at the International Conference Centre of Seychelles (ICCS) in the presence of President Wavel Ramkalawan and First Lady Linda Ramkalawan.

The graduates came from three levels of study. Eleven earned an Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management, a three-year program that allows them to continue their studies at the Shannon College of Hotel Management in Ireland. The two-year Advanced Certificates were awarded to 78 students in five areas, including Culinary Arts, Wellness and Spa, and Tourism.

The 18-month Certificates were awarded to 92 students, including those in Food Preparation and Culinary Arts, who trained 38 graduates, including six on the island of Praslin. Several awards were presented. The President’s Cup was awarded to Elaine Hoareau for her outstanding performance, leadership, and commitment. The winner received a laptop, a presidential scholarship, luxury hotel stays, and an Air Seychelles ticket to Abu Dhabi.

The Principal’s Award for Outstanding Personal Transformation was presented to Lara Dick and Brendon Malvina. The Board of Governors’ Award was given to Bashiir Pharce for his practical skills. The Minister’s Awards recognized the top students in each year group: Wayne Esther, Micaella Dogley, and Petra Estico. Academy Director Richard Mathiot congratulated the graduating class and encouraged them to remain motivated in their careers. The ceremony also featured an inspiring speech, musical performances, and souvenir photos.
